Due to Coronavirus, AWBS is undergoing changes to offer an attractive number of virtual activities. This programme is being worked on and new members are welcome to join us for these during the Summer. We hope that meetings will start up again in the Autumn albeit in a limited format according to Government advice.
In addition to General Meetings and Special events, AWBS members can enjoy special interest activities together. Activity groups are established and organized by members who are interested in pursuing their personal interests and hobbies with other AWBS members. We are hoping these can start up again soon but in the meantime, some will be offered via Zoom or other platforms.

We are just steps away from some of the most stunning scenery in the United Kingdom with miles of paths criss–crossing the landscape, making all areas of this charming country accessible. Walks vary from 3 to 6 miles and are typically once a month, September through May.
One of our most popular activity is Country Walks, recently completed a 6 mile walk around the beautiful River front village of Pangbourne, meandered through the rugged countryside of Chobham and around the glorious, quintessential, uncrowded, rolling green English countryside of Berkshire and the Chilterns.
The Inner Artist
Come along to this relaxed, 8 week drawing course and unlock your inner artist. Learn about perspective, proportion, shading and toning, using charcoal, graphite and coloured pencils.
Walking tours followed by lunch once a month in different London neighbourhoods. Sometimes the focus will be a geographic location, other times, a particular subject matter within London.
Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation, and involves a degree of chance. It can be easily learned yet is difficult to master! We play about every two weeks at the home of one of our members.
